Hey there, I’m Tom Tao! I was an IT engineer in China.

I have been involved in IT technical support for many large-scale events, such as the network construction and technical support for the news center of the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008; the network construction, technical support and satellite signal transmission for the World Snooker Championships from 2012 to 2014; the network construction and technical support for the Miss International News Center from 2009 to 2011; the emergency communication repair for the Wenchuan Earthquake disaster area in 2008; the construction of the 4G network in Kathmandu, Nepal, in 2002; the construction of the Chengdu Tianfu Data Center from 2005 to 2008.

I was also one of the earliest members to participate in the construction of the Internet in China. In 1993, I participated in the establishment of China’s earliest interconnected network, Chinese fidonet (CFido Network), and served as the manager of the Chengdu node.

I am proficient and have used various operating systems and network devices, server, storage devices. Familiar with virtual machine usage. Knowledge of database operations. Proficient in building websites.
